JOHN ANDREWS, OBE has dedicated his entire life and career to cultivating larger and more appreciative audiences for the Bard. Mr. Andrews spent a decade as Director of Academic Programs at the Folger Shakespeare Library, editing Shakespeare Quarterly and overseeing a center for advanced studies in the Renaissance. He also chaired a National Advisory Panel for The Shakespeare Plays, a BBC series that brought the complete works to American viewers between 1979 and 1985, and helped spearhead a touring exhibition, Shakespeare: The Globe and the World, that took Folger treasures around the nation while the playwright's classics were being presented on television. Mr. Andrews' publications include a 3-volume reference set, William Shakespeare: His World, His Work, His Influence, and two editions of the poems and plays, a 19-volume clothbound collection known as The Guild Shakespeare and an annotated 16-volume paperback compilation, The Everyman Shakespeare.
