Author, ROBERT WINDELER and performer, SHANA FARR will discuss the author’s two books Julie Andrews: A Life on Stage and Screen and Julie Andrews. Farr, along with Jon Weber, will also bring to life some of the songs attributed to this iconic performer who quickly became America’s sweetheart and influenced the great songwriters of both Broadway and Hollywood. This Zoom discussion will be filmed at The Players and will be followed by a Q&A. Please email all questions to: dtc@dutchtreatny.org ROBERT WINDELER is the author of 18 books, including biographies of Mary Pickford, Julie Andrews, Shirley Temple, and Burt Lancaster. As a West Coast correspondent for The New York Times and Time magazine, he covered movies, television and music, and he was an arts and entertainment critic for National Public Radio. He has contributed to a variety of other publications, including TV Guide, Architectural Digest, The Sondheim Review, and People, for which he wrote 35 cover stories. SHANA FARR is a classically trained actress/singer and award-winning cabaret/concert performer who has played at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center Rose Theater, Feinsteins at The Regency, Feinsteins/54 Below, and Birdland, London's Crazy Coqs and most recently The Pheasantry. She has performed leading roles in musical theater, operetta and plays. Highlights are: The Music Man, The Merry Widow, Blithe Spirit, Sweet Bird of Youth, Oklahoma!, Love Letters, The Pirates of Penzance, and more, at venues including New York City Center, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, McCarter Theater, York Theatre Company, and Rhynsburger Theatre.
