Shana Farr is an award-winning singer, actress, producer, and recording artist whose career bridges musical theatre, concert work, cabaret, recording, producing, and arts leadership. She has appeared at distinguished venues including Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall), Jazz at Lincoln Center (Rose Theater), Feinstein's at The Regency, 54 Below, Birdland Jazz Club, Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, The Green Room 42, The Missouri Theatre, London's Crazy Coqs and The Pheasantry, and Westminster Abbey.
A passionate advocate for both the Great American Songbook and contemporary art song, Shana is equally devoted to preserving treasured repertoire and introducing new works to audiences. In 2026, she gave the world premiere performance of Lullaby, an art song composed especially for her by acclaimed composer James Adler for soprano, piano, and cello. Presented in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the performance featured Adler at the piano alongside internationally acclaimed cellist Igor Zubkovsky. She also recorded the work for Adler's forthcoming album, scheduled for release in Fall 2026.

Shana is the recipient of several prestigious honors, including a Bistro Award for In The Still of the Night, the concept show she conceived, wrote, and produced celebrating the music of Noël Coward and Cole Porter. She has also received the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Julie Wilson Award, recognizing a rising star in cabaret, and the Donald F. Smith Award for her critically acclaimed contributions to musical theatre, operetta, drama, and recordings. In 2026, she added a Telly Award to her growing list of honors as Co-Producer of an award-winning episode of Creative Encounters featuring her interview with acclaimed producer and director Richard Jay Alexander.
Her solo concert and cabaret productions have earned acclaim throughout the United States and internationally. Signature programs include The Songbook of Julie Andrews: Whistling Away the Dark, The Songbook of Barbara Cook: It's Not Where You Start, We're Old Fashioned: The Jerome Kern Songbook with cabaret legend Steve Ross, Lullaby of Broadway, and her autobiographical evening Dream Reality. Whether interpreting beloved standards or premiering newly commissioned works, Shana is known for performances that combine classical technique with intimate storytelling.
Beyond the stage, Shana has established herself as an accomplished producer and arts administrator. She currently serves as Associate Producer of the new original musical Come the Darkness, collaborating with an internationally acclaimed creative team, and has produced more than 100 performances, lectures, and special events for New York's historic The Players and York Theatre Company
In addition to her performing career, Shana has appeared in the award-winning films Confession and Imogene and is a sought-after performer for staged readings of both new works and classic plays, appearing with organizations including The Players, The Actors Studio, and the Resident Acting Company.
Her work as an interviewer and host has included conversations with distinguished artists such as Sir Ian McKellen, F. Murray Abraham, John Andrews, OBE, Wayne Hart, Robert Windeler, Richard Jay Alexander, and many others through the Creative Encounters series and other arts programming, helping preserve the stories and insights of some of today's most respected creative voices.
Her debut album, Out of the Shadows, was launched with a live performance at The Players. The Wall Street Journal praised the recording, writing, "Her voice is bright, strong and true… Ms. Farr is probably the most convincing younger American to sing Noël Coward."
Shana began performing at an early age in the Midwest before earning her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Boston University. She made her professional New York musical theatre debut at New York City Center as Elsie Maynard in The Yeomen of the Guard, receiving critical acclaim from the New York Post, Backstage, and the New Jersey Star-Ledger.
Today, Shana continues to balance an international performing career with producing, recording, developing new theatrical works, and championing the next generation of composers and storytellers.
